Concord Shipping uses XBEE marine fuel additive to clean up HFO

Concord Shipping is a German-based shipping company, founded in 2008 by Heino Bröhan and Hans-Herbert Rancke and currently belongs to the USC Barnkrug GmbH & Co. KG group.

Concords focus primarily on the MPP segments and currently manages 8,000 Mts MPP M/V Antje. After consultation with XBEE Germany, Concord Shipping decided to use XBEE marine fuel additive to improve the quality of the fuel before combustion. This company has 4 multipurpose merchant vessels 7,950TDW / 444TEU running on 380 cst heavy fuel oil.

During a trip around Australia, the main storage tank of the vessel M/S Antje got contaminated HFO 380, containing a high percentage of asphaltenes. The fuel, although meeting specifications, was creating problems in the centrifuge.

The batch of contaminated heavy fuel oil was treated with XBEE and moved to an empty tank. Fuel input was improved by installing a “circulation” pump. After a few days, problems disappeared and did not occur again. From then, this fuel could be used without any further technical issues thanks to the action of XBEE enzymes.

Using XBEE Enzyme Fuel Technology helped to improve and maintain a homogeneous structure in the fuel.
